About the Tool

What Is a PPF Calculator?

A PPF Calculator is an online financial planning tool that estimates how much your Public Provident Fund investment may grow during the selected investment period.

It calculates the maturity value using your annual contribution, expected interest rate, investment tenure and chosen deposit timing. It also separates your final amount into total invested money and estimated interest earned.

How PPF Interest Is Calculated

This calculator adds the selected annual contribution and applies annual compound interest to the eligible balance. When deposits are made at the beginning of each year, they receive interest for that year. Deposits selected at year-end begin earning interest from the following year in this estimate.

PPF Calculator Formula

For annual deposits made at the end of each year, the estimated future value is calculated using the ordinary annuity formula:

Maturity Value = P × [((1 + r)n − 1) ÷ r]

Here, P is the yearly contribution, r is the annual interest rate expressed as a decimal, and n is the investment period in years.
