What Is an Attendance Calculator?

An attendance calculator is an online tool that determines the percentage of classes, lectures, training sessions or working days you have attended. It divides the number of attended sessions by the total sessions held and converts the result into a percentage.

This calculator also works as an attendance target planner. It can estimate how many consecutive classes you need to attend to reach a required percentage and how many classes you may miss without falling below that target.

How Is Attendance Percentage Calculated?

Attendance percentage is calculated by dividing the number of classes attended by the total number of classes held. The result is then multiplied by 100.

Attendance percentage:
Classes Attended ÷ Total Classes Held × 100

Classes missed:
Total Classes Held − Classes Attended

For example, if 100 classes have been held and you attended 82, your attendance percentage is 82%.

How Are Required Classes Calculated?

When your current attendance is below the target, the calculator assumes that you will attend every upcoming class until the target is reached.

Required consecutive classes:
(Target × Total Classes − Classes Attended) ÷ (1 − Target)

The result is rounded up because attending part of a class is not normally counted as a complete attendance.

How Are Safe Absences Calculated?

When your current attendance is already at or above the target, the calculator determines how many future classes you may miss before your percentage falls below the selected requirement.

Classes that may be missed:
Classes Attended ÷ Target − Total Classes Held

The result is rounded down to ensure the projected percentage remains at or above the target.

How do I calculate my attendance percentage?
Divide the number of classes attended by the total classes held, then multiply the answer by 100. For example, attending 45 out of 50 classes gives an attendance percentage of 90%.
How many classes must I attend to reach 75%?
The number depends on your current total and attended classes. Enter those values and select 75% as your target. The calculator will show the consecutive classes required.
How many classes can I miss and maintain 75%?
Enter your current attendance details and choose a 75% target. If your current percentage is already 75% or higher, the calculator will estimate the maximum number of future classes you can miss.
Can attendance return to 100% after an absence?
No. Once a class has been missed, the percentage can move closer to 100% by attending future classes, but it cannot become exactly 100% unless the missed class is removed or corrected in the official record.
Can I calculate subject-wise attendance?
Yes. Enter the total and attended classes for one subject at a time. This provides the attendance percentage for that particular subject.
Does the calculator include medical leave?
No. Medical leave and approved absences are treated differently by different institutions. Enter the total and attended classes shown in your official attendance record.
Why is my official percentage slightly different?
