How This Brick Calculator Works

3. Estimate Bricks
The net area is divided by the brick face area including mortar joints, then waste allowance is added.

The calculator uses this simple formula:
Gross Wall Area = Wall Length × Wall Height
Net Wall Area = Gross Wall Area - Openings Area
Brick Face Area = Brick Length With Joint × Brick Height With Joint
Total Bricks = Net Wall Area ÷ Brick Face Area + Waste Percentage
