What Is an EPF Calculator?
An EPF Calculator is an online financial planning tool that estimates how much money may accumulate in your Employees’ Provident Fund account by the time you retire. It uses your monthly basic salary, employee contribution, employer contribution, expected salary increase, interest rate and remaining employment period.
The result helps you understand your potential retirement savings without performing long monthly calculations manually. This calculator also separates the employer’s EPF and EPS portions, providing a clearer contribution breakdown.

How the EPF Calculation Works
The calculator processes every month of the selected employment period. It calculates employee EPF, employer EPF and employer EPS contributions separately. It also increases salary annually according to the expected salary growth entered by the user.
Employer EPS = Eligible EPS Salary × EPS Rate
Employer EPF = Employer Contribution − Employer EPS
Monthly interest is applied to the running EPF balance for estimation purposes. The calculator does not apply EPF interest to the EPS portion because EPS is a pension benefit and does not form part of the interest-bearing EPF account balance.
| Component | Paid By | Where It Goes | Included in EPF Maturity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Employee EPF | Employee | EPF account | Yes |
| Employer EPF | Employer | EPF account | Yes |
| Employer EPS | Employer | Employee Pension Scheme | No |
| EPF Interest | Credited on balance | EPF account | Yes |

Factors That Affect Your EPF Maturity Amount
Monthly PF Salary
A higher salary on which PF is calculated usually results in larger employee and employer contributions.
Contribution Rate
Increasing your voluntary employee contribution can increase the amount accumulated in the interest-bearing EPF account.
Interest Rate
The applicable EPF interest rate affects the growth of your balance. Even a small rate change can create a noticeable difference over a long employment period.
Salary Growth
When your basic salary rises, future monthly contributions can also rise. The calculator applies the selected salary growth rate once each year.
Investment Duration
A longer contribution period provides more time for regular deposits and compound growth to increase your retirement fund.
