Unlike the arithmetic mean, which adds values together, the geometric mean focuses on multiplication. This makes it useful for comparing growth rates, investment returns, ratios, percentages, population changes, and values that compound over time.
For example, the geometric mean of 4 and 16 is 8 because √(4 × 16) equals √64, which equals 8.
